Green Goddess Smoothie

Prep Notes: Drinking the Green Goddess Smoothie for breakfast is a great way to incorporate tremendous amounts of greens into your diet – far more than just eating your veggies. A glass or a bowl contains over 3 cups of dark leafy green vegetables, which is more than many people get in a week!

Yields : 2 servings

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups herbal tea or water

1 head organic kale, chopped

3 to 4 stalks organic celery

1/2 head of a large bunch or 3/4 of a small bunch ofspinach

1 organic kiwi

1 organic apple, cored and chopped

1 organic pear, cored and chopped

1 organic banana

2 inch of ginger

Juice of 1/2 fresh organic lemon

Optional: 1/3 bunch organic cilantro (stems OK) and 1/3bunch organic parsley (stems OK)

Directions

  1. Add water and chopped kale to blender. Blend at a low speed until smooth.

  2. Add spinach, celery, ginger apple, and pear, and blend at high speed.

  3. Add cilantro and parsley (which help chelate heavy metals fromyour body).

  4. Finish with banana and lemon.

  5. Blend at a high speed in Vitamix for 30-45 seconds. 

    Serve with sprinkles of hemp or chia seeds, goji berries or homemade granola.
